WASHINGTON'S CONTRIBUTIONS TO DATE
FAIRFAX COUNTY,
VIRGINIA
USAR VA TF1 deployed to Haiti via
USAID. Members of the NCR-IMT assisted at FEMA Headquarters NRCC for the
Haitian response.
LOUDOUN COUNTY,
VIRGINIA
Provided information on how to contribute to the relief efforts. This
endeavor was lead by the Volunteer Loudoun team.
VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
The Unified Federal resource page on the Haiti disaster,
http://www.whitehouse.gov/haitiearthquake, provides links for
donations, the state dept. number, and a summary and links to the federal
agencies assisting in the relief effort. There are also two images,
or widgets on the page that our federal, state, and local partners can
easily put on their websites to link to the White House page.

governments can send offers of assistance:
helphaiti@state.gov. FEMA personnel are manning this email
address and working directly with the State Dept. to match needs with
offers of assistance.
Businesses, NGOs, etc. should post offers of
assistance to the database posted on
www.cidi.org.
PRINCE GEORGE'S
COUNTY, MARYLAND
Prince George’s County created two
Disaster Relief teams of 30 staff members from Fire/EMS, Health, Law
Enforcement, and Building Inspectors ready to be deployed if request is
made. Teams formed at the request of County officials. No official
request to form teams. Local charitable organizations are collecting
donations.
BOWIE, MARYLAND
They are assisting in outreach on behalf of some City volunteer groups who
are collecting medical supplies and other hard goods as well as monetary
donations through our website links and Public Information Coordinator.
Our City Council has not proposed a specific assistance plan at this time.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY,
MARYLAND
The County Website states: Fire and Rescue Service deployed a
communications specialist and a command specialist from the County’s
Incident Support Team (IST) and Montgomery County’s Urban Search and
Rescue Team (USAR) is currently on standby, awaiting orders from the
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Anyone interested in making a
donation can find information on the Volunteer Center’s website at
www.montgomerycountymd.gov/volunteer.
MARYLAND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY
Maryland activated the State
Repatriation Plan at 2300 Saturday 1/16/10. MEMA is staffing the
SEOC at level 2 to assist with Haitian repatriation efforts. 22
people were repatriated at Andrews Air Force Base on 1/16/10. MEMA
and DHR are on standby for additional flights that may occur in the
future. Maryland will be filling the EMAC Position in Washington DC
beginning Friday January 22, 2010 through January 28, 2010.
